Kiran Rao expressed happiness
During the screening at the Supreme Court of India, the film’s director Kiran Rao expressed happiness. She said that she is very proud to see that the movie has created history by being released in the Supreme Court. She also said that she is grateful to D.Y. Chandrachud for this honour.
He further said that he was sure that people would like the story of Phool and Jaya. However, the love the film has received from the audience is more than he expected. He further thanked the audience for giving so much love to the film.
Missing Ladies revolves around the story of Phool and Jaya, two newly-wed brides who get swapped in a train. The story of Phool and Jaya also promotes the idea of women empowerment.
Although the movie did not get much love from the audience in theaters, it became a hit as soon as it was released on OTT. The film also surpassed Ranbir Kapoor’s Animal as soon as it was released. Pratibha Ranta, Nitanshi Goyal and Sparsh Srivastava are in the lead roles in the film.
Presented by Jio Studios, ‘Missing Ladies’ is directed by Kiran Rao and produced by Aamir Khan and Jyoti Deshpande. The film is produced under the banner of Aamir Khan Productions and Kindling Productions. The script is based on the award-winning story by Biplab Goswami.
The screenplay and dialogues of the film have been written by Sneha Desai, while the rest of the dialogues have been written by Divyanidhi Sharma. The film has now been released in theatres.
